We had breakfast at Beach Box Cafe, located just off the the main esplanade. A bright and lovely café with plenty of outdoor seating and a good view, it's hard to miss!
Here was my mandatory hot chocolate for an early, cool morning.
My breakfast of choice was the lemon and thyme mushrooms with goat cheese, poached eggs and toast. I'm not usually a fan of goat cheese, so it was a little bit of an adventure. It turned out that a light sprinkle of them was actually quite delicious. The mushrooms were pretty ordinary though, and it made me quite sad that the poached eggs were a tad overcooked.
Hubby ordered the big breakfast, and alas for him, his most anticipated hash brown got replaced by a sausage that he did not like.
We found the food quite ordinary (the quality of a café's poached eggs ranks very highly on my scorecard) but we really loved the vibe. We could smell the sea and feel the breeze in our hair. Skye entertained herself with dog-watching all the other pooches that were also out for breakfast with their owners. If you're ever in Inverloch, there's no harm in stopping by for a relaxing meal!
