Twenty minutes or so in, we found the place nestled within the Ringwood golf course and my, even though it was gloomy and drizzling, I was excited at the thought of dining at a place with such a green and majestic view.
Seeing as it was a chilly morning, we skipped the idea of cold pressed juices and went for a hot chocolate instead.
Being in a different suburb and all, I felt a little adventurous and decided to try something new. I ordered the breakfast salad, complete with poached eggs, organic quinoa, avocado, maple roasted bacon, corn, mint, feta, spinach and chia.
Are you drooling yet?
I had never tried quinoa before, so I got quite a shock when I saw it was the main composition of the dish. However, I am pleased to report that it made a great first impression! The entire dish felt really fresh and healthy, save for the delicious cubes of maple roasted bacon that added just enough naughty to the dish. There were lots of different flavours and textures incorporated, making it a delightful and interesting breakfast.
Hubby ordered the big breakfast, and he liked it as well. I didn't have much of anything except a bit of the hash brown (I was getting too full from my own dish!) and it was deliciously crunchy.
It's been a while since we've gone out for brunch, and Mister Fox turned out to be a great spot for a comeback. Pleasant service, great food, beautiful views and lots of space - I wish it was closer to home so we could come back for more!
