For drinks, we decided to share one of their specials - the 'Pink Lady'. It consisted of watermelon, celery, melon and lots of ginger, which gave it an amazing kick! I love it when the 'underdog' ingredient is used boldly, and it worked especially well in this case!
You know I can never say no to mushrooms. I got myself a mushroom stack, served with avocado, goat's curd, beetroot relish, dukkah, rocket and toasted Turkish bread. In general, the flavours were lovely, but perhaps goat's curd is still not my thing. The mushrooms were large and juicy though, so that was a plus!
Hubby was very pleased with his choice of baked eggs as it arrived looking very pretty. I think he quite enjoyed it!
It was a lovely place for a stopover lunch with a great vibe and plenty of choices on the menu. It made us realise that there was so much more to explore in Bendigo. Even though I've been here for a three-day road trip a few years back there is probably still a lot to see. It seems like we'll be back soon though, when it's time to pick up our little puppy! (An exciting story for another time.)
