Churchill Island Walk

After breakfast at the café we took a walk around Churchill Island. It was a slightly chilly, overcast day which was completely different from the day before. Once again, I was thankful for being able to experience different landscapes under different weather conditions on the same trip.

The island had a great contrast of brown and green.

I read that this walk was particularly good for birdwatching, but unfortunately we are quite unacquainted with birds. I will make it a point to read up on flora and fauna before going on future walks.

Click here to access an informative brochure about what's on at Churchill Island, including the walk. We did the Island Loop (approximately 5km) which took us about 1.5 hours at a leisurely pace. We didn't actually enter the Heritage Farm where plenty of activities such as cow milking and sheep shearing are available. There are also gardens and buildings rich with history. We promised ourselves that we would bring our future kids here.

Oh, and keep an eye out for the Highland cows, both the real-life ones on the farm and the most adorable plushie ones in the visitor centre. (We bought ourselves a puppy-sized one!)
