What's a holiday without some good food? Although we had the option of staying for dinner at our accommodation, we decided to take the opportunity to explore Fish Creek. Hubby was in search of fish and chips, and so we decided to stop by KO Bar & Grill for dinner.
Despite the miserable, grey weather, the café still had a very cheery atmosphere. There were plenty of families hanging out on the deck, and the kids were having the time of their lives!
We were pretty hungry, so we ordered half a loaf of ciabatta to start off with. The oil and balsamic dip had a great kick, and paired with warm bread, we had ourselves a great appetiser.
I felt like having something meaty and substantial, so I opted for the 'Burger Burger'. Oh boy, it definitely had everything you could ask for in a burger. The fillings were a whopping combination of a beef patty, fried egg, bacon, pineapple, cheese, lettuce, beetroot, tomato relish and caramelised onion. It was so satisfying!
Hubby ordered the beer battered flake with a side of fat chips. I didn't try the fish, but I stole so many of the chips, which were so tasty. They were crunchy on the outside, and mushy and starchy on the inside. They were very evenly salted as well, and I just could not make myself stop at one or two. It was one of the few times where the chips stood out!
Apart from the slightly slow service, we really enjoyed our meal. After we finished, we went to the general store to stock up on some snacks for our walk in Wilsons Prom the next day, which I will be talking about in my next post!
