Bambaleros, Canterbury

One fine Sunday, I met up with my bestie for brunch at Bambaleros, Canterbury. I had never been to Canterbury before, and even though I didn't get to see too much of it that day, I really liked it. I thought it was a beautiful, green suburb with a very classy and relaxed atmosphere.

I went for the naughty option and indulged in a sweet treat, the buttermilk pancakes topped with mixed berry compote with a side of vanilla ice-cream. The pancakes were really fluffy and didn't feel heavy on the stomach at all, whereas the compote was sweet, lovely and mushy. Even though I really enjoyed it I didn't manage to finish my second pancake because it was just too huge. Given its size, a little more vanilla ice-cream would have been nice, but nevertheless, it was delightful.

My bestie had the ham and cheese croquettes with various sides, which was the other dish I was considering. I could tell she really loved it. I think I would have too. Just look at those croquettes. And tomato and spinach and bacon and egg and aioli. It's a creative alternative to a regular big breakfast.

I would love to go back and explore this suburb a little more, while discovering other eateries which are hopefully as enjoyable as this one!
